AboutLe Clot de l’Origine

Le Clot de l’Origine is a Maury domaine founded by Marc Barriot in 2004. Ten hectares are scattered across six communes, from coastal-influenced Salses to higher parcels around Maury, Calce and Caudiès, spanning roughly 15 to 400 metres in elevation. Organic practice dates to the domaine’s beginning, with formal certification following in 2009.

The grapes are harvested by hand into small bins and fermented with indigenous yeasts. Concrete, large wooden foudres and used barrels are chosen according to the wine, with little sulphur and no routine fining or filtration.

Clot de l’Origine 2019 Soif de Plaisir

French Red
$43.99
Floral notes and minerality characterize this dry red. Carignan comes from Estagel, while Syrah comes from Caudiès-de-Fenouillèdes, with schist and schist-marl soils. The wine can be served cool with grilled dishes, salads or pizza, or at cellar temperature with beef and stew. It is also suited to the aperitif. The producer suggests drinking it within five to eight years.
