Clos Fourtet

Clos Fourtet stands at Saint-Émilion’s western entrance beside the collegiate church and Grandes Murailles, on ground associated with a fortified post that once guarded the town. The Cuvelier family acquired the estate in 2001, and Matthieu Cuvelier now leads it alongside technical director Emmanuel de Saint Salvy.

Clos Fourtet is a Premier Grand Cru Classé in Saint-Émilion’s 2022 classification. Merlot dominates its clay-limestone vineyard, above old stone quarries used to age the wines in barrel and bottle.
