AboutClos de Luz

Clos de Luz is a family-owned estate in Chile’s Almahue Valley, on land acquired by Gabriel Edwards’s great-grandfather in 1892. The winery was founded in 2015 and named for Luz Pereira, who planted Carménère here in 1945.

New vines are grown from cuttings selected in the old vineyards. Sheep graze among the vines and native vegetation is retained. Grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted, then fermented with native yeasts.

Clos de Luz 2020 Agreste País-Moscatel

Chilean Red
$36.99

Cherry red and lightly cloudy because it is unfiltered, this País and Moscatel blend offers gentle strawberry, sour cherry, damp earth, stem and sweet-spice notes. The palate is flavourful and light, with gentle tannins, hay and fruit. The grapes come from an old vineyard in Almahue, Cachapoal, and the wine spent ten months in used barrels.
