AboutCirro Wines
Cirro was founded in Marlborough in 2009 by winemaker David Tyney and is now run with his brother Adam as a small family-owned producer near Renwick. Before Cirro, David worked at Yalumba and in California, studied at Lincoln University and held senior winemaking roles in Marlborough.
The home vineyard is farmed organically, with cover crops, closely spaced vines and irrigation beneath the soil. Two terraces shape the site: heavier clay above, and stony gravels and loams below.
Cirro 2023 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Lime, grapefruit and passionfruit lead, with a green-herb edge that keeps the aromatics brisk and focused. The palate is lively and clean, driven by mouth-watering acidity and a juicy citrus core before a snappy, dry finish. Bright without becoming sharp, it suits oysters, goat cheese, fresh herbs, grilled prawns or crisp summer salads.
