Château Trotte Vieille
Château Trotte Vieille
Records connected with Château Trotte Vieille in Saint-Émilion extend back to the fifteenth century, giving the property an unusually long documented timeline. Marcel Borie acquired the estate in 1947, and the Castéja family has continued its stewardship through the Borie-Manoux group. The château has appeared in Saint-Émilion’s classification since the system’s first edition in 1955, with status tied to the relevant classification cycle.
Its vineyard includes a notable proportion of old Cabernet Franc alongside Merlot and smaller plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon. The long site history, 1947 acquisition and current family management belong to separate chapters of the estate’s chronology. Trotte Vieille’s present work joins old Cabernet Franc, long Saint-Émilion history and Castéja family stewardship.
