Château Segonzac
AboutChâteau Segonzac
Château Segonzac was founded in 1887 by Jean Dupuy, a newspaper proprietor who would later become France’s agriculture minister. He equipped the estate with a mechanically driven vat room. Jacques Marmet acquired Segonzac in 1990 and began a sustained programme of renewal in the vineyard and cellar.
The vineyard slopes towards the Gironde, with clay-limestone soils over a thick limestone base. Grapes from older parcels are kept separate in the cellar, with barrel ageing adapted to the different wines.

French Red
Black fruit and vanilla oak sit within a broad, round profile with aromatic richness and a slight sweetness. This red comes from the Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. The Vieilles Vignes cuvée draws on older vines, while the estate's clay-limestone subsoil lies over a thick limestone platform. The vineyard carries certified organic status. Red plantings include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
