Château Le Puy
Château Le Puy
AboutChâteau Le Puy
The Amoreau family has tended Château Le Puy since 1610, a continuity now spanning fifteen generations on the same Bordeaux estate. Organic farming was formalized in the 1960s, with biodynamic work following in the 1990s. Vines share the property with woodland, meadows, hedges and ponds.
Horses help work the soil, which is cultivated only shallowly, and plant infusions are used in a vineyard managed without synthetic treatments. Hand-picked grapes ferment with native yeasts in cement vats before at least two years of ageing in used barrels and large wooden vats.
Château Le Puy 2020 Émilien
Dark cherry, blackcurrant and plum meet cedar, earth and a quiet trace of mushroom. The palate is savoury and finely structured, with silky tannins framing bright red fruit, roasted almond and subtle spice. Freshness and mineral detail hold the supple texture in balance through a long, understated and complex finish.
