Château Laronde Desormes is based at Macau, just upstream of Margaux and a few hundred metres from the Gironde. Its clay-and-gravel vineyards lie on the Gironde’s low terrace and produce Bordeaux Supérieur. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are planted closely to limit the crop carried by each vine. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by ageing in new and previously used barrels.

French Red
A mature Bordeaux blend with dried dark fruit, cedar and leather, shaped by dusty tannins and firm acidity. The palate is dry and savoury, showing restrained fruit and a graphite-like mineral line rather than overt richness. Clean and composed on the finish, it is well suited to roast beef, lamb, mushrooms or other quietly earthy dishes.
