AboutChâteau La Rabotine

Raised in a Sancerre winegrowing family, Alban Roblin joined the estate in 2009 as the fourth generation and began developing its estate-bottled wines. The château was built around 1600 by the notary Louis Rabotin; Alban’s grandparents bought it in 1960, and the family was able to reunite it with the vineyard in 2010. Marion Roblin joined the estate in 2019.

Their 12 hectares are divided among 19 parcels, mainly around Sury-en-Vaux and Maimbray. The white-wine vines grow mostly on clay-limestone, with a smaller proportion on limestone; each parcel is handled separately. The family has stopped using herbicides as part of a move towards organic farming.

Elderflower and acacia rise first, followed by wildflower honey, pineapple and a light confectionery note. The palate is fresh and smooth, with lemon and citrus bringing clean definition to the riper fruit. Bright acidity holds everything in balance, carrying the wine into a tangy, polished and refreshing finish.
