AboutChâteau Haut-Bergey
Château Haut-Bergey dates back to a fifteenth-century property, although winegrowing only resumed in 1957 after a long interruption. Sylviane Garcin acquired the property in 1991 and undertook a broad renewal of vineyard and cellar; her son Paul joined in 2007 and has led the domaine since 2014. The estate makes red and white Pessac-Léognan, with most of its vines devoted to the reds.
Paul began organic conversion in 2015 and adopted biodynamic methods throughout the vineyard in 2016. Organic AB and biodynamic Demeter certification followed in 2018, with Biodyvin certification in 2019.

French Wine
Blackberry and currant open with cedar, leather, forest floor and a measured touch of cinnamon and clove. Medium-full and focused, the palate carries ripe red and black fruit over chalky, fine-grained tannins and lively acidity. Tobacco, liquorice and smoky earth add savoury depth without weighing it down. Mature yet still composed, it finishes long and mineral, with dried cherry, orange peel and gentle spice.
