Château des Gravières
AboutChâteau des Gravières
Château des Gravières belongs to the Labuzan family, whose roots in the riverside village of Portets reach back to the early seventeenth century. The first bottles carrying the estate name appeared in 1847, and the property later weathered the phylloxera crisis. Today brothers Thierry and Denis represent the seventh generation.
The twenty-hectare Graves estate works with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for its reds and Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for its whites. The reds ferment at low temperatures and age in barrel; gentle pressing and lees stirring are used for the whites.
Château des Gravières 2022 Graves Rouge
A lightly woody, toasted nose opens with prune and licorice. Fleshy and robust on the palate, the wine carries its depth with measured balance and a generous, structured feel. The finish is firm and long, keeping the profile classic and composed. Serve with roast beef, lamb shoulder, grilled mushrooms or a slow-cooked lentil dish.
Château des Gravières 2024 Graves Rosé
Strawberry, red cherry and a light floral fragrance lead a fresh rosé. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with ripe red-berry flavours joined by a touch of citrus. A clean, zesty finish follows the fruit. The bright berry-and-citrus profile suits summer salads, lighter meats or tofu, while the floral note keeps the aromatic character lifted and direct.
Château des Gravières 2024 Graves Blanc
Citrus, white peach, lychee and exotic fruit form a bright, finely detailed nose. Round yet fresh, the palate balances supple texture with clear fruit and a firm mineral line. A long, persistent finish keeps the wine composed and energetic. Serve with oysters, grilled prawns, white fish or light summer dishes.
