Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel began assembling and developing Cos d’Estournel in Saint-Estèphe at the end of the eighteenth century. The estate’s distinctive architecture reflects the founder’s trading links, while the vineyards occupy gravel rises close to the Gironde estuary. Cos d’Estournel was classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux classification, a status tied to the estate rather than a modern award.
Michel Reybier acquired the property in 2000 and has overseen its current period of ownership and investment. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are the principal varieties, with blending and élevage adjusted to the conditions of each vintage. Its story joins the founder’s early nineteenth-century development, the 1855 classification and Michel Reybier’s modern stewardship.

French Red
Lush and concentrated, with cassis, black cherry and ripe dark plum framed by cigar box, tobacco and warm spice. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, carrying dense black fruit with freshness and finely polished tannins. Truffle, smoke and a mineral note add savoury depth as the wine opens. The finish is long and opulent, returning to dark berries, cedar, licorice and spice without losing definition.
