AboutChampagne Guillaume Sergent

Guillaume Sergent is a trained winemaker whose family has tended vines in Vrigny since at least the mid-nineteenth century. He took over his share of the family estate in 2008 and began releasing Champagne under his own name in 2011.

His small collection of parcels lies in Vrigny and neighbouring Coulommes-la-Montagne, with many higher-slope vines rooted in deep sand near the forest. Fermentation begins with native yeasts in used oak, and the wines are bottled without fining or filtration. Sergent favours larger, seasoned casks and relatively short maturation to keep oak from dominating the wines.
