Moisès Virgili i Rovira founded Celler 9+ in 2010 in La Nou de Gaià, a few kilometres inland from the Mediterranean. After studying winemaking and food engineering and working harvests abroad, he returned to make wine around his village and its grapes.
He manages a 38-hectare mixed farm, including 20 hectares of vines, with olives, grain and carob grown alongside them. Some parcels belong to local families who no longer have anyone to take on the farming. The farm is certified organic by CCPAE, and wines are fermented spontaneously and bottled without added sulphites, fining or filtration.
