AboutCasa Marín

Casa Marín began in 2000, when María Luz Marín planted at Lo Abarca despite advice that the cold, foggy coastal site was unsuitable for vines. She was Chile’s first woman winemaker in the private sector. Lo Abarca lies only four kilometres from the Pacific, with morning fog and cold winds.

After a fifteen-year effort, Lo Abarca received its own denomination of origin in 2018. A new generation—Jamie Verbraak, Felipe Marín and Nicolás Marín—now carries the project forward while preserving its coastal focus.

Casa Marín 2016 Cartagena Coastal Red

Chilean Red
$36.99
Syrah and Garnacha come from vines on a steep, north-facing slope in Lo Abarca. The maritime setting lies close to the sea, and the soils are entirely calcareous with marine deposits. Herbal aromas accompany a balanced, fresh profile. The palate is fine and persistent, with vibrant acidity and balanced tannins. The release marked the first harvest from the Garnacha planting.

Casa Marín 2023 Cartagena Riesling

Chilean White
$31.99
Pale yellow and dry, this Riesling brings honeydew melon, peach and ripe citrus together with mineral detail, a hint of petrol and a light herbal edge. Firm acidity keeps the palate focused and energetic. The fruit opens gradually through the finish, balancing coastal freshness with a measured, gently rounded sense of ripeness.
