AboutCantine Sgarzi
Luigi Sgarzi began making wine in 1933 at Castel San Pietro Terme, in the hills between Bologna and Imola. His grandson Stefano now works alongside the fourth generation of the family. From its Emilia-Romagna base, the company has expanded into several Italian wine regions, working its own vineyards and producing a broad range of regional wines.
Cantine Sgarzi Grande Amoroso 2022 Puglia Rosso IGT
Italian Red
Cherry, plum and spice appear in a fruit-led profile. The palate is rounded, with a soft, pleasant bitterness on the finish. Sangiovese and Negroamaro form this Puglia IGT blend, which is presented in a semi-dry red style. The wine shows an intense ruby-red colour. Its supple character makes it an approachable choice with pasta, pizza or other savoury dishes.
