Cantina Giardino
AboutCantina Giardino
Six friends founded Cantina Giardino to preserve old vineyards and native grape varieties in Irpinia. Led by Antonio and Daniela Di Gruttola in Ariano Irpino, the project draws fruit from scattered small parcels, many with vines more than fifty years old.
Aglianico, Fiano, Greco, Coda di Volpe and Falanghina are central to the wines. The vineyards are worked organically, and the wines are bottled without filtration or added sulphur. The labels feature work by local artists.
Cantina Giardino 2021 NA Vino Bianco
Golden orange in colour, the wine is dry and structured, with floral notes, pure fruit, stone fruit, mineral character and a salty finish. The blend includes Coda di Volpe, Falanghina, Fiano and Greco. Fermentation is spontaneous, and no sulphur dioxide is added. This natural, skin-contact white comes from Campania in Italy and also shows tannin.
