AboutChâteau La Canorgue
Château La Canorgue has passed through the same family for over 200 years, occupying a Luberon property built over the remains of a Roman villa and named for the channels cut through its rock to gather water. Martine and Jean-Pierre Margan restored neglected vineyards and cellars in the 1970s; their daughter Nathalie began making wine alongside Jean-Pierre in 2000 and represents the fifth winegrowing generation.
The estate farms forty hectares on the Luberon’s northern flank, where Rhône and Mediterranean varieties share the landscape with parcels of old vines. Organic cultivation has guided the vineyard since the 1970s. The vineyard is certified by Ecocert, with mechanical weed control, composts and plant preparations used in place of systemic chemical treatments.
Canorgue 2021 Luberon Blanc
Crisp, clean and mineral, with citrus, ripe pear, stone fruit, melon, fresh-cut hay and a subtle fennel note. The palate is dry and energetic, trading heaviness for clarity and lift. A layered southern Rhone white with a fresh, savoury finish that works equally well as an aperitif or beside fish and shellfish.
