AboutBrasserie de la Senne

Yvan De Baets and Bernard Leboucq met at Brussels’ Zinneke parade in 2002 and opened their first microbrewery in nearby Sint-Pieters-Leeuw the following year. After several years in rented brewing facilities, they brought Brasserie de la Senne to Brussels, completing their first brew there in December 2010.

The brewery takes its name from the city’s river and keeps Brussels as its first market, limiting exports. Its unfiltered beers favour pronounced hop bitterness balanced by malt and fermentation flavours, with lower-alcohol styles a particular focus.

Brasserie de la Senne Zinnebir Belgian Pale Ale 330 mL

Belgian Beer
$7.49
Golden with a slight amber cast, this balanced Belgian pale ale layers dried apricot and orange marmalade over a lightly biscuit-like malt frame. Floral, citrus and gently spicy hop notes lead into a fine, persistent bitterness and a crisp, dry finish. Serve cool with roast chicken, grilled sausages, mussels or nutty cheese; its combination of fruit, malt and bitterness is particularly food-friendly.
