AboutBoulard
Pierre-Auguste Boulard founded his distillery in Normandy’s Pays d’Auge in 1825, and four further generations of the family continued his work. Boulard makes its Calvados by distilling cider twice in direct-fired pot stills.
The middle portion of the second distillation is kept for ageing in French-oak casks in four cellars at Coquainvilliers. Some spirits remain there for decades, under the care of cellar master Sylvain Pluchard, who oversees ageing and blending.
Boulard Grand Solage Calvados Pays d’Auge 375 mL
French Brandy
Bright copper-gold, with fresh and baked apple joined by vanilla and gentle oak. The palate is smooth and fruit-forward, balancing a touch of sweetness with mild tannin, cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper. A blend of Calvados aged for several years gives the finish warmth and persistence. Enjoy neat after dinner or in an apple-led classic cocktail.
