In Spain’s hot, sparsely populated, and landlocked southwestern region of Extremadura, the first commercially-released brand was Bonaval Cava. This highly-technical and precision-run Cava-only facility is owned by Bodegas Lopez Morenas (founded 1943), in a friendly and hardworking ‘Ruta del Vino’ town surrounded by vineyards and not far from the Guadiana River. The local Iberico ham and olives alone make for a tempting menu that seems appropriate from dawn until bedtime, however late that may be.

Bonaval NV Cava Brut Rosado

$21.99
A strawberry-pink Cava with a steady stream of fine bubbles. Fresh red berry fruit and gentle lees roundness make it an easy aperitif or a lively match for tapas.

Bonaval Nv Cava Brut Nature

$21.99
A dry, crisp Cava with apple, peach and citrus lifted by a light floral note. Firm acidity keeps the palate focused, while a gentle touch of spice adds interest without weighing down the fruit. Clean and refreshing through the finish, it is a natural aperitif and an easy match for sushi, soft cheeses or roasted almonds.
