AboutBodegas Briego
Bodegas Briego took shape in Fompedraza during the 1980s, when the Benito Hernando family began recovering vineyards and planting new ones in Ribera del Duero. Brothers Gaspar, Fernando and Javier own and manage the estate, sharing the vineyard, winemaking and commercial work, with the next generation now joining them in the cellar.
More than 77 hectares of estate vines stretch from the valleys of Peñafiel and Curiel at roughly 750 metres to cooler parcels above 900 metres around Fompedraza. Tinto Fino grows across sandy, stony, clay and limestone sites, with harvest decisions made parcel by parcel. The cellar uses both French and American oak for ageing.

Wild strawberry and fresh fruit meet apple, white flowers and balsamic accents. Liquorice, roasted tones, chocolate, black fruit and bright acidity are also present. Made entirely from Tempranillo, the wine spends eight months in French and American oak. The palate is fleshy and balanced, with present tannins, while the colour is a vivid red-purple and alcohol reaches fourteen percent.
