AboutBodegas Breca
Jorge Ordóñez founded Bodegas Breca in 2010 at Munébrega, in the mountainous southern reaches of Calatayud. The project is devoted to Garnacha de Aragón, drawing on old bush vines across the Sierra de Pardos and Sierra de Peña Blanca. Many of the parcels are farmed without irrigation and worked by hand on high, exposed slopes. Slate and quartz soils, low rainfall and marked changes between daytime and night-time temperatures shape the growing conditions.
Bodegas Breca 2016 Garnacha de Fuego
Spanish Red
Sweet cherry and dark plum aromas accompany blackcurrant, black cherry, scorched earth and melted liquorice. Forest berries, olive tapenade and candied orange peel add further detail. Made entirely from Garnacha, the wine has supple tannins and a lively, harmonious finish. Cellar work uses concrete and stainless steel, and the wine carries fifteen and a half percent alcohol.
