Bodega Séptima

Bodega Séptima began in 1999 and opened its Agrelo winery in 2001 as the seventh winemaking house of Raventós Codorníu. At about 1,050 metres in Luján de Cuyo, the winery sits within the Finca Emblema estate beneath the Andes. Architects Bórmida & Yanzón used thick walls of stacked local river stone, a traditional technique called pirca that helps steady the building’s temperature.

The wines draw on Agrelo fruit and selected vineyards in the Uco Valley. The cellar team maps vineyard rows and makes small trial batches, testing native yeasts and different fermentation and ageing vessels.
