AboutBernard Family Brewery

Stanislav Bernard, Josef Vávra and Rudolf Šmejkal bought Humpolec’s failing brewery at auction in 1991, then repaired it with a focus on making unpasteurized beer. The town’s brewing history reaches back to 1597.

Bernard makes its own floor-malted barley in Rajhrad, grows fresh yeast in Humpolec and uses water from its wells alongside Czech-grown hops. Its lager process uses a double mash and four additions of hops, with fermentation and maturation carried out separately.

Bernard Celebration Lager 500 mL

Czech Beer
$8.99

Dark golden colour appears with well-formed bitterness, malt character and documented drinkability. An international judging note records those details. The brewery identifies this as an unpasteurized lager with fine yeast culture, a distinctive flavour and fine yeast taste and aroma. Its documented 500 mL format accompanies the published malt, bitterness, drinkability and overall yeast profile.
