AboutLos Bermejos
Los Bermejos is based in La Florida on Lanzarote, where a historic winery reopened under new management in 2001. Eruptions between 1730 and 1736 covered farmland with ash, and growers learned to dig through that layer to reach the soil beneath. Vines grow low in pits, often sheltered from the wind by curved stone walls, while the volcanic ash helps retain scarce moisture.
The winery uses Lanzarote-grown grapes protected by the island’s designation of origin. Gravity and gentle pressing are used to handle the grapes without pumps.
Los Bermejos 2021 Diego Seco
A pure, distinctive island white with citrus peel, green apple and white flowers. Volcanic smoke and a saline, oceanic edge give the aromas unusual definition, while bright acidity and a light texture keep the palate linear and fresh. Crisp, mineral and persistent through the salty finish, it is especially well suited to shellfish, grilled fish or simple vegetable dishes.
