AboutBailly Lapierre

Seventy winegrowing families in the Auxerrois founded Bailly Lapierre in 1972 and helped campaign for the Crémant de Bourgogne appellation, recognized in 1975. The cooperative now gathers grapes from hundreds of growers across northern Burgundy, with harvesting carried out by hand. The range uses four Burgundy grapes: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gamay and Aligoté.

Bailly’s bottles mature more than 50 metres underground in a four-hectare limestone quarry. Once worked for building stone and later used for mushroom growing, the quarry was converted into wine cellars in 1972. The galleries stay cool, humid and dimly lit as the wines age in bottle.

Bailly Lapierre Réserve Brut Crémant de Bourgogne

French Sparkling
$37.99

Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gamay and Aligoté form the blend. The wine is rounded and full, with a varied bouquet, clear-cut character and a clean, fresh profile. Pear and red apple appear with a creamy mousse and crisp acidity. The appellation’s four permitted varieties are all represented in this Burgundy sparkling wine, which is bottled in the Brut style.
