AboutArtesa
Artesa opened in Los Carneros in 1991 as Codorníu Napa, the California venture of Spain’s Raventós Codorníu. Initially devoted to sparkling wine, the estate later turned to still wines. The Artesa name—Catalan for “handcrafted”—arrived in 1998.
The winery occupies the foothills of Mount Veeder, looking across Los Carneros from a site shaped by rocky soils and maritime influence. The cellar is built into the hillside, with a design inspired by Barcelona and the Bay Area. Fruit from individual parcels is harvested, fermented and aged separately in small lots.

Blackberry, blueberry and dried fig lead, lifted by a fine edge of white pepper. The palate layers black cherry, plum and mocha over a restrained note of vanilla toast. Supple tannins and fresh natural acidity keep the dark fruit vibrant and composed, carrying the wine into a long, elegant and quietly complex finish.
