AboutAroa
Aroa began in Navarra’s Yerri Valley in 1998 with the planting of its vineyards; the winery followed for the 2009 harvest. Its two underground levels use natural temperature control and daylight, while gravity moves fruit to the tanks during harvest.
The vineyards surround the winery in one of Navarra’s cooler, higher valleys. Red and white Garnacha lead the plantings, with Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in supporting roles. Cover crops, plant-based treatments and composted pruning and harvest material shape the vineyard work. Fruit from each parcel ferments spontaneously with native yeasts in separate small tanks.
Aroa 2020 Le Naturel Blanco Navarra
Spanish White
Intense straw-yellow colour with green and light golden hues accompanies tropical fruit, ripe pip fruit, citrus, mineral notes and white flowers. The palate combines persistent acidity, creaminess, a sweet background, light bitterness and a persistent finish. Garnacha Blanca and other varieties are grown organically on calcareous clay soils. The grapes are hand-harvested, pressed gently and fermented with natural yeasts below 16 degrees Celsius. Alcohol is 13.5 percent.
