Andreas Vallendar is the master blender behind Bonpland, selecting rums from the Caribbean and South America for further ageing in Germany’s Saar-Mosel region. He trained in beverage technology and founded Avadis Distillery; his family has made fruit spirits for generations on an estate established in 1824. Bonpland’s range includes blends and limited single-cask rums, often finished in casks from German wine estates.
Bonpland Traveller’s Belize 13 Year Old Single Cask Rum 500 mL
Belizean Rum
Burnt sugar and caramel lead, followed by coconut, pineapple and roasted almond. The palate is rich but controlled, with chocolate, vanilla and warm oak framing the tropical fruit. Distilled in Belize and later finished in German wine casks, it combines rounded rum sweetness with a drier, vinous line of structure. Baking spice develops toward the back of the palate. The finish is smooth and warming, carrying caramel, oak, cocoa and toasted nuts. Pour neat or with a small measure of water.
Bonpland Guyana Uitvlugt 19 Year Old Rum 500 mL
Guyanese Rum
Caramel, green apple and brown sugar open over ginger and a restrained smoky note. The palate is velvety yet structured, bringing pear, apple and wine-like fruit into warming spice and a lightly astringent grip. The cask influence adds depth without masking the rum's Guyanese character. The finish is long and smoky, carrying grape, ginger, tobacco and lingering dry spice.

German Rum
Caramel and dark fruit lead a rich, rounded aroma, with vanilla and warm oak spice adding depth. The palate is full-bodied and softly sweet, balancing molasses-like richness with dried fruit and measured wood. Finishing in German wine casks brings a polished, vinous edge to the blend. The finish is long and gentle, fading through caramel, oak, dark fruit and restrained spice.
