AboutAlta Mora

Alta Mora began in April 2013, when brothers Diego and Alberto Cusumano and their father Francesco acquired vineyards in three districts on Mount Etna’s northern slopes. Early work at Guardiola included rebuilding the traditional dry-stone walls that hold the volcanic terraces.

Its underground winery uses lava and other natural materials to insulate the cellar and protect the wines from light. Grapes are picked by hand and softly pressed.

Alta Mora 2017 Etna Bianco Carricante 1.5 L

Italian White
$114.99

Yellow pear and fresh apricot open with lemon zest, wild sage and a flinty mineral note. The palate is lean and energetic, with bright acidity giving the fruit a clean, snappy shape. Crushed herbs and graphite add savoury definition through the middle, while the magnum format gives the wine a generous presence at the table. The finish is persistent and precise, lingering on citrus, stone fruit and cool mineral detail.
