AboutAlpha Estate
Alpha Estate was founded in 1997 by viticulturist Makis Mavridis and chemist-oenologist Angelos Iatridis after they chose Amyndeon in northwestern Greece for their wine project. The vineyards occupy a high plateau between 620 and 710 metres, where cold winters, dry summers, cool nights, northwesterly winds and two neighbouring lakes shape the growing season.
The winery sits within the vineyards and uses gravity to limit handling. Grapes are harvested during the coolest hours.

Pale yellow in colour, the profile includes lemon peel, bitter orange, pineapple, lime zest, fresh oregano and orange blossom. The palate has good volume, pleasant acidity and a long finish. This dry white is made entirely from Malagouzia. Controlled alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, and the wine remains on its lees for two months with regular stirring. The wine contains thirteen percent alcohol.
