Zibibbo
Zibibbo
Arianna Occhipinti 2021 SP68 Bianco
Perfumed exotic fruit and white flowers lead an aromatic, textural white, with peach, red apple and orange blossom bringing generous fruit. Stony minerality and a gentle skin-contact grip add shape, while salinity keeps the finish fresh and detailed. Complex without heaviness, it pairs beautifully with grilled prawns, roasted vegetables or aromatic Mediterranean dishes.
Wildman Wines 2022 Astro Bunny Pét-Nat 1.5 L
Vermentino, Zibibbo, Grüner Veltliner, Nero d’Avola and Verdejo make up the blend. The wine is pale, hazy orange, with spice, white pepper and cut lime. Peach and nectarine appear with watermelon. The fruit comes from Adelaide Hills, Riverland and McLaren Vale sites. Zibibbo receives twenty-four hours of skin contact, and secondary fermentation takes place in bottle after frozen juice is added.
Gabrio Bini 2022 Serragghia Zibibbo Bianco
An intense golden colour with amber reflections accompanies candied citrus, dried flowers, Mediterranean herbs, resin and oriental spice. The profile is structured and deep, with salinity, freshness and a persistent finish. Zibibbo from Pantelleria underwent extended skin contact and natural vinification in buried amphorae. The vines grow on volcanic and sandy soils of lava origin. Natural agriculture, no chemical treatments and Biodynamic practices are used.
Wildman Wines 2022 Piggy Pop Pét-Nat 1.5 L Magnum
Cranberry-pink colour accompanies red cherry, cherry pit and glacé cherry. Pomegranate, blood orange and spice sit with a savoury amaro twist of raspberry and salted liquorice. The bubbles are persistent, soft and foamy, with mouthwatering freshness. Mataro, Lagrein, Arneis, Nero d’Avola and Zibibbo form the blend, which completes fermentation in bottle at a final pressure of about three bars.
Donnafugata Ben Ryé Passito di Pantelleria
An aromatic Passito di Pantelleria made from Zibibbo, with apricot, orange blossom and candied citrus over honeyed richness. Bright acidity keeps the finish vivid rather than heavy.
Crudo 2024 Catarratto Zibibbo Terre Siciliane
Pear, peach and melon are joined by aromatic tropical fruit and a light floral lift. The palate is gently rounded, with enough acidity to keep the ripe fruit clear and refreshing. A soft, lightly off-dry impression carries into the clean finish. Serve well chilled with seafood, salads, mild curries or spicy Asian dishes.
Elios 2019 Modus Bibendi Bianco Macerato
Burnished orange-gold in the glass, with candied fruit, apricot, orange peel and brown spice. The palate is structured and textural, its light skin tannin and gentle astringency balanced by lively acidity and a fresh herbal lift. Complex but approachable, it suits roast squash, spiced poultry, firm cheese or savoury grain dishes.
