Touriga Francesa
Touriga Francesa
Ramos Pinto 2018 Late Bottled Vintage Port
Portuguese Fortified
Concentrated ruby colour, nearly opaque at the centre, accompanies ripe cherry, raspberry, black plum, eucalyptus and cedar. Cherry, plum, sweet red berries and bergamot sit with meaty, silky tannins. The blend contains Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Barroca, Sousão, Tinto Cão and Tinta Roriz. Grapes are foot-crushed in lagares, and the wine ages in large casks. It is bottled without filtration or hot and cold treatment.
Quinta da Carvalhosa 2009 Campo Ardosa Douro
Portuguese Red
Old vines exceeding forty years grow as a traditional mixed planting of Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Francesa. Fermentation takes place in conventional vats and traditional granite lagares. The wine matures for about twenty months in French barriques before being bottled without filtration. Full fruit and roasted aromas accompany ripe, velvety tannins. It is a dry red with thirteen and a half percent alcohol.
