Auxerrois
Auxerrois
Maison Kuehn Crémant d’Alsace Brut Blanc de Blancs
A very pale yellow colour shows gold reflections. Lively white-fruit notes and a toasted touch appear on the nose, while the palate carries freshness, elegance, delicate flavours and structure. Auxerrois and Pinot Blanc form the blend. Traditional-method production includes a second fermentation in bottle and fifteen to eighteen months of ageing on laths. Dosage is nine grams per litre.
Domaine Marcel Deiss 2019 Zellenberg Alsace
Peach, quince, grapefruit, apple, tea, white flowers, wet stone and sage appear with ripe yellow fruit. Fresh acidity and a long saline finish are present. The complanted vineyards include Riesling, Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Fermentation uses indigenous yeast, and maturation lasts at least twelve months in large oak. The vineyards lie on marl and limestone conglomerates.
Rathjen 2018 Pinot Auxerrois
Bright citrus and honey lead a lively, gently rounded nose. The palate is fresh and quietly textured, with lees ageing in neutral oak adding breadth without masking the fruit. Clean acidity keeps the wine precise, carrying the citrus and honey through a poised, refreshing and persistent finish.
