Philippines
The Philippines is gaining recognition for its diverse beverage industry, particularly its unique spirits such as rum and lambanog, a traditional coconut spirit that reflects the country’s rich agricultural heritage. The country boasts several established rum brands, including Don Papa and Tanduay, which are celebrated for their smoothness and distinctive flavour profiles. In recent years, the craft beer scene has also emerged, with local breweries innovating and producing a variety of styles that highlight Filipino ingredients and flavours.
Tanduay Amber Rum
Rich caramel and toasted oak lead the aroma, followed by vanilla and a light note of tropical fruit. The palate is smooth and rounded, with molasses-like depth, gentle baking spice and a soft honeyed accent bringing balance to the oak. The finish is warm, mellow and lightly sweet. Serve over ice, lengthen with cola or ginger beer, or use in a rum Old Fashioned where its caramel and oak character can take the lead.
Tanduay Boracay Coconut Rum
Creamy coconut leads with a soft almond accent and generous tropical sweetness. The palate is smooth and rounded, with a clean white-rum base keeping the richness lively rather than heavy. A gentle warmth carries through the finish, leaving lingering coconut and a lightly nutty note. Serve chilled or over ice, lengthen with pineapple or soda, or use it to bring an easy, polished coconut character to a Piña Colada or tropical highball.
