Malbec comes from selected stony parcels in Altamira, southern Uco Valley, at about 4,000 feet. Sandy, silty and stony patches occur within the vineyard, while the rockier sections have abundant surface stones and rounded rocks coated with calcium carbonate. The profile includes deep violet-red colour, black fruit, mineral notes, freshness, fruit, acidity and balance. Twelve months in French oak includes twenty percent new barrels.

Intense ruby colour accompanies raspberry, cherry and pink and black pepper. The tannins are ripe and firm, with a silky texture and lingering finish. Cabernet Franc grows at 1,100 metres in Paraje Altamira on sandy loam over massive calcareous blocks. Grapes are harvested and selected by hand. Maceration lasts twenty-five days. Ageing lasts twelve months in French oak divided equally among new, second-use and third-use barrels.

Malbec forms the entire wine from Paraje Altamira in San Carlos, Uco Valley. The vineyards sit between 1,050 and 1,150 metres. Their alluvial soils were formed by mountain water carrying rocks, sediments and minerals.
