Menetou-Salon
Domaine Pelle 2019 Menetou-Salon Morogues Blanc
White flowers and citrus lead into ripe peach, lime zest and a gentle herbal note. The palate is fuller than many Loire Sauvignon Blancs, but remains racy and clear, with refreshing acidity and a saline mineral line carrying the finish. Its balance of richness and precision works well with goat cheese, asparagus, shellfish or herb-roasted chicken.
Domaine Roger Champault 2021 Menetou-Salon Blanc
Bright, lifted aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest and white flowers meet a subtle herbal edge and wet-stone minerality. The palate is crisp and linear, driven by zesty citrus and green orchard fruit, with chalky texture and a saline snap. Clean, refreshing tension carries the finish. Ideal with oysters, goat cheese or simply as an aperitif.
Domaine Pellé 2017 Les Bornés Menetou-Salon Blanc
White flowers and citrus appear in an aromatic profile. The palate is full, rich and tender, with fruit and underlying minerality. Sauvignon Blanc grows on Kimmeridgian marl in vines averaging twenty-five years. The grapes are pressed pneumatically on arrival, then the juice is settled. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by six months on the lees in stainless steel.
Domaine Pellé 2021 Menetou-Salon Morogues Rosé
Pale gris in colour, this dry Pinot Noir rosé brings bright whitecurrant fruit and a fresh, creamy-textured palate. It is made without oak influence and comes from vineyards around Morogues in the Loire. The domaine was established in the middle of the twentieth century, around the time the Menetou-Salon appellation was created, though the Pellé family had made wine in the region earlier.
Domaine Henry Pellé 2015 Menetou-Salon Les Cris Rouge
Red-berry fruit, fine perfume and spicy acidity accompany developed tannins in a structured profile. Pinot Noir comes from the family’s wholly owned Les Cris vineyard, where clay-limestone soils include Kimmeridgian marl and Portlandian limestone. The parcel’s vines are about fifty years old. Chalky minerality and concentrated fruit are present, and the wine has a clearly defined tannic frame.
Domaine Pelle 2020 Menetou-Salon Morogues Blanc
Yellow plum, ripe citrus and a touch of tropical fruit give the nose generous lift. Concentrated on the palate without becoming heavy, it balances rounded fruit with clean acidity and a light mineral edge. The finish is fresh, aromatic and quietly persistent. Serve chilled with grilled prawns, fresh goat cheese, green vegetables or a simply dressed roast chicken.
