Forster Pechstein

Subtle, exotic yellow-fruit aromas accompany a tight, dense character, mineral salinity and a long, fresh finish. Basalt occurs at the surface, alongside red sandstone-derived soil and sandy loam, with clay and limestone about two metres below. Riesling ferments in 2,400-litre Doppelstück barrels and remains on full lees until July. The wine is filtered once and bottled in mid-August.
