Condrieu
E. Guigal 2012 Condrieu
White peach, apricot, dried pear, Meyer lemon, nectarine and citrus zest appear with violet, chamomile, honey, ginger, almond cream, anise and light toast. The wine is fresh, round and rich, with chalky mineral character and a lingering finish. Viognier grows on granite and sandy soils in steep terraces. Fermentation and eight months of maturation use new oak barrels and stainless steel, and malolactic fermentation is completed.
Cave Saint-Désirat 2018 Condrieu
Clear straw colour accompanies grilled notes, mocha and crystallized white fruit. The palate is slightly toasted with acacia flowers, good balance, a long finish and a round texture. Kumquat, mandarin, lemon, apple, citrus zest and dry mandarin add further detail, alongside mineral notes. Made from Viognier, the wine comes from Condrieu and combines fruit, floral, toasted and mineral elements.
