About The Glenrothes
Glenrothes was founded in the Speyside town of Rothes in 1879 with the aim of making a lighter spirit. Water from four private springs is filtered through volcanic bedrock before flowing downhill to the distillery. Slow distillation in tall stills gives the spirit extended contact with copper. For maturation, the distillery specifies sherry-seasoned oak casks.
