Melon de Bourgogne from the Pays Nantais forms this Loire white. Gorges is among the firmest, most structured and mineral Muscadet crus. The wine remains on its lees for forty-two months. Whole clusters are pressed directly, and the juice settles naturally for twelve hours. Pays Nantais is the Loire region bordering the Atlantic, and Muscadet Sèvre et Maine is one of its subzones.

About Domaine de la Pépière
Marc Ollivier created Domaine de la Pépière in 1984 at Maisdon-sur-Sèvre, taking the name from the hamlet where he grew up. Rémi Branger and Gwénaëlle Croix now lead the domaine. The estate has grown through purchases of old-vine parcels, with vineyards on granite, gneiss and gabbro.
The vines are farmed using organic and biodynamic methods. For the Muscadets, hand-harvested grapes ferment with native yeasts in underground vats, and the wines age on their lees.
