Artemis Karamolegos 2023 Terra Nera Assyrtiko White Wine

Melon, pear, citrus fruit, herbal hints and mineral notes are present. The palate is fresh, with balanced acidity and a long finish. Assyrtiko comes from vineyards at lower elevations on Santorini, where the vines average fifty years of age. White-wine vinification takes place at low temperature, and the wine remains on its lees for six months.

About Artemis Karamolegos Winery
Artemis Karamolegos's grandfather began making wine for the family on Santorini in 1952. Artemis made his first wine at the new Exo Gonia winery in 2003.
The winery focuses on Assyrtiko from Santorini's volcanic vineyards, including old vines trained in baskets. Individual parcels are handled separately, with stainless steel, barrels and amphorae used according to the wine.
