Trimbach 2005 Cuvée des Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre Gewurztraminer

This Gewurztraminer includes fruit from Osterberg and Hunawihr. Honey, rose petal, peony, sweet pea, bacon fat and cinnamon are present. The palate is rich and firm, with a cool chalky impression. Fifteen grams of residual sugar appear alongside unusually high acidity and palpable extract. Refined and elegant in character, the wine has persistent juiciness, florality and subtle spice.

About Trimbach
The Trimbach family can trace its Alsace winegrowing history to 1626, when Jean Trimbach was recorded as a winegrower in Riquewihr. The family moved the house to Ribeauvillé in 1920, where successive generations have continued its work.
Riesling features prominently in the range, including Cuvée Frédéric Emile and Clos Sainte Hune, whose label dates to 1919. Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Sylvaner sit alongside the Rieslings, with named grand cru wines such as Mandelberg and Schlossberg also in the range.
