Currant and lifted dark fruit meet dried flowers, tobacco and a cool mineral note. The palate is concentrated yet supple, with fresh acidity giving the wine clarity and energy. Fine-grained tannins provide shape without heaviness, while savoury earth and a faint saline edge add detail through the long, focused finish. Decant before serving with roast lamb, braised beef, grilled mushrooms or firm aged cheese.

About Prats & Symington
Prats & Symington began in 1999, bringing together Bruno Prats’s Bordeaux experience and the Symington family’s work in the Douro to make dry red wines. Its vineyards at Quinta de Roriz and Quinta da Perdiz lie in the Cima Corgo, with schist soils and slopes facing in different directions.
Grapes are picked by hand, cooled and sorted twice before moving by gravity into small fermentation vats. Chryseia, the flagship wine, matures in 400-litre French oak barrels.
