Roasted malt gives a rich, dark aroma, with caramel, toffee and a gentle nutty note adding warmth. The palate is surprisingly light and smooth, carrying deep malt flavour without heaviness. Restrained bitterness keeps the rounded sweetness in balance, while a subtle toastiness adds definition through the middle. The finish is clean, easygoing and quietly savoury. Serve well chilled with burgers, roast pork, aged cheddar, or a mushroom pie.

About Powell Brewery
David Bowkett and Nicole Stefanopoulos opened Powell Street Craft Brewery as a Vancouver nanobrewery in December 2012. Within months, Old Jalopy Pale Ale was named Beer of the Year at the 2013 Canadian Brewing Awards. Demand led to a larger Powell Street facility and public tasting room in 2014.
The range includes pale and dark ales, IPAs, lagers and seasonal releases. Old Jalopy combines an English-ale base with Northwest Coast hop character.
