Poplar Grove 2013 Cabernet Franc Okanagan Valley

Black plum and cassis meet smoky cedar, graphite and a dusting of cocoa. Round and supple on entry, the palate brings cherry and dark fruit together with soft tannins and a restrained savoury edge. The finish is polished and already approachable. Give it a little air and pair with lamb, braised beef, grilled peppers or aged cheddar.

About Poplar Grove Winery
Founded in 1993, Poplar Grove was one of the first five wineries established on the Naramata Bench. Merlot and Cabernet Franc formed the first plantings, and the 1995 debut vintage amounted to just 150 cases. Tony and Barb Holler purchased the winery in 2007; today their four sons share responsibilities across the vineyards and business.
The family farms vineyards on the Naramata and Skaha benches and around Osoyoos, matching varieties to different sites. Its Middle Bench winery opened in 2011.
