Rich black and blue fruit coat the palate, joined by a restrained layer of soft French oak. The profile is linear and focused, with well-managed tannins giving the ripe fruit shape without roughness. Dark berries and subtle spice linger on the firm, satisfying finish. Decant for an hour and serve with roast beef, lamb shank or a mushroom Wellington.

About Poplar Grove Winery
Founded in 1993, Poplar Grove was one of the first five wineries established on the Naramata Bench. Merlot and Cabernet Franc formed the first plantings, and the 1995 debut vintage amounted to just 150 cases. Tony and Barb Holler purchased the winery in 2007; today their four sons share responsibilities across the vineyards and business.
The family farms vineyards on the Naramata and Skaha benches and around Osoyoos, matching varieties to different sites. Its Middle Bench winery opened in 2011.
