Subtly sweet and full-bodied, with ripe plum nectar at the centre and a gentle touch of apple and pear tartness bringing balance. Notes of peach, nectarine, toasted almond and warm spice add depth without overwhelming the fruit. The finish is long, smooth and clean. Serve chilled, over ice, with spicy dishes or alongside a simple fruit dessert.

About Gekkeikan
Gekkeikan began in 1637, when Jiemon Okura opened a sake brewery in Fushimi, just south of Kyoto. In 1905, the brewery adopted the name Gekkeikan, meaning “crown of laurel.”
Tsunekichi Okura, the eleventh successor, expanded the business from 1887 and established a brewing research institute in 1909. Gekkeikan developed year-round brewing in 1961 and opened its Folsom, California brewery in 1989.
