Smoky dark fruit and violet lead a concentrated nose, with ripe plum, blackberry and a quiet earthy note adding depth. The palate is full-bodied and composed, bringing leather and savoury spice into balance with refined tannins. Dark berry fruit remains clear through the middle, carrying a polished, well-structured finish.

About Marichel
Marichel is a small, proprietor-run Naramata Bench estate whose vineyard was planted in 2000. Richard and Elisabeth Roskell built and planted the property together. The winery sits at the head of the vine rows, so the fruit can move from harvest to crush without leaving the farm.
The estate grows Syrah and Viognier on sandy and silty loams, making red, white, rosé and sparkling wines. Vineyard work includes drip irrigation and reduced cultivation, alongside recycling and habitat preservation.
